Michelle Perrill
Michelle is a social work professional based in Galway with over a decade of experience across child protection, adult safeguarding, and disability services. She holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Applied Social Studies from GMIT, a Master's in Social Work from NUI Galway, a Postgraduate Diploma in Practice Teaching, Supervision and Management, and, most recently, a Postgraduate Diploma in Healthcare Risk Management and Quality from UCD.
Michelle began her career supporting vulnerable adults and children in social care, before joining Tusla, the Child and Family Agency, as a Child Protection Social Worker in 2017, progressing to Team Leader in 2022. In 2024, she moved to Ability West, where she served as Social Work Lead, providing leadership across social work policy, safeguarding governance, clinical supervision, and risk assessment for people supported by the organisation.
Michelle has since returned to Tusla in a new appointment, continuing her commitment to child and family welfare. A guest lecturer at the University of Galway, she has spoken on "The Importance of Play in Social Work" in 2024 and 2025. Known for her calm, empathetic, and solution-focused approach, she is a strong advocate for vulnerable individuals and families.
Michelle was co-opted on the Board of Care Alliance Ireland in June 2026 and is seeking formal election to the board at the upcoming AGM.
